ABOUT Morgan Everhart


Born in Dallas, Texas, Morgan Everhart works in painting, installation, performance, and writing. Everhart’s practice challenges naturalism and ontology through reflection on personal experiences, identity, and art history. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of North Texas in 2013, and her Master of Fine Arts from the LeRoy E. Hoffberger School of Painting at the Maryland Institute College of Art in 2016. Recent exhibitions include: OFF CANVAS, YCG Fine Art x A Women’s Thing Online Viewing Room (2020-21), Flowers for my Failures at the Longwood Museum, Virginia (2019); BLOOM at Millersville University, Pennsylvania (2019); and, Four Degrees of Abstraction at Markel Fine Arts, New York (2018). Everhart currently lives and works in New York, where she is also a contributing writer to A Women’s Thing publication. The artist’s first outdoor mural will be revealed at the intersection of Grand and Suffolk Streets (New York, NY) in the spring of 2021, and will be featured in Neumeraki’s International exhibition Art Off-Screen.

Dave Scalia

Dave Scalia received his B.A. in Jazz Studies from the acclaimed Jacobs School Of Music at Indiana University, where he studied under Steve Houghton and the late Dr. David Baker.After graduating in 2010, he was selected for the prestigious Ravina Steans Institute for Jazz where he performed alongside the nation’s top young jazz artists. Based in Brooklyn, New York for over a decade, Scalia has been working as a session and touring drummer, producer, and songwriter with Grammy Award winning and multi-platinum recording artists, as well as underground and experimental musicians. Live performance and studio credits include: Elle King, White Rabbits, Gabriel Garzon Montano, Dawn Richard, Theo Katzman, Sky Ferreira, Cayucas, Brazos, A Great Big World and Darren Criss. Scalia also has extensive credits as a jazz musician, performing or recording with accomplished musicians like Frank Glover, Corey Wilkes, Linda Oh, Marquis Hill, Calude Sifferlin, Maurice Brown, and Randy Brecker. He has appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Late Night with Seth Meyers, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Sesame Street, The Voice, The View, Kelly and Ryan, The Graham Norton Show, The Today Show, Good Morning America, and The Late Late show with James Corden. Scalia’s music has been featured in HBO's Big Little Lies, Netflix's Riverdale as well as several short films, documentaries, and commercials.

Paul DeVincenzo

Paul Dominic DeVincenzo is a bassist, composer, music producer, song writer, and music director originally from New York City. DeVincenzo received his bachelor's degree from New York University, where he studied music theory and composition. After graduating summa cum laude, he began working, touring, performing and recording with several major label artists. Paul currently lives in Nashville, TN and is the Music Director and bass player for three time Grammy nominated artist, Elle King. He is also a part owner of a Nashville based recording studio with fellow musician Soren Hansen. DeVincenzo has produced, engineered and mixed several major label records from his studio and continues making records in Music City. He has performed and recorded with artists such as Elle King, The Veronicas, New Politics, Striking Matches, Sam Palladio, Cassadee Pope, Sarah and The Sundays, Katy Tiz, and Teddy Geiger. DeVincenzo has appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman, Late Night with Seth Meyers, The Late Late Show with James Corden, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel Live, MTV's Total Request Live, VH1's Big Morning Buzz, Nickelodeon's Kids Choice Awards, The Australian Aria Awards and The Graham Norton Show.

Daniela Espinosa-Casillas of Cruda Studio


Textile Response to Dream of Dreams


Daniela Espinosa-Casillas is a textile artist and photographer. She grew up in Puerto Rico with her Puerto Rican mother and Mexican father, always feeling close to both cultures. She moved to New York City in 2010 to attend the Pratt Institute for a BFA in Film. After graduating, she returned to Puerto Rico to spend time with her family and experiment with other media. Espinosa-Casillas then left to volunteer for a textile cooperative in Guatemala, where she fell in love with backstrap weaving and decided to perfect her weaving skills there. In 2020, the artist returned to New York City to start Cruda Studio, a photography and textile project that incorporates her 35mm photos, weaving, and embroidery. All of the artist’s weaving is done with naturally dyed fibers sourced from indigenous women in Guatemala; Espinosa-Casillas aspires to give them more work as Cruda Studio grows, supporting their traditional skills.

Yassana Croizat-Glazer, Founder of YCG Fine Art


Curator of "Morgan Everhart: Flesh and Bloom"


Yassana Croizat-Glazer received her Ph.D. in art history from New York University’s Institute of Fine Arts. After serving as a curator at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Croizat-Glazer founded YCG Fine Art, an online gallery and art advisory business specializing in modern and contemporary art, as well as European painting from the 16th to the 19th centuries. In addition to contributing a regular column called “Past Matters” to A Women’s Thing, Croizat-Glazer has authored several scholarly publications, most recently Exploration and Revelation: French Renaissance Studies in Honour of Colin Eisler (Center for Reformation and Renaissance Studies, University of Toronto, 2020).
